Aliyah, the sister of Taliyah, is a mute. Really, she can talk but she chooses not to. Aliyah, spelled with an A. A for absence…. A for Anxious. She really embodies the existence of my anxiety. Aliyah wields a scythe as well. Red, the color of her sister’s hair, the scythe and Aliyah do not have the power to conjure any lightning. Her scythe would nullify all lightning. Absorbing the lightning, with nowhere to go, the lighting would escape through the tip of the blade.

This original character I tried to actually resemble myself with a fantasy twist. Being that this entire series is a resemblance of my battle with mental health issues, this was the perfect opportunity to make myself into who I would want to be in this ideal world. Ash wields no weapon, instead, they gather and harness the elements using focus. Ash wears a Kitsune Mask to mask their true identity and mask their true reactions and emotions.

During spooktober, a close friend of mine and I drew each other in our own elements. This is my interpretation of her chibi character. 

My Original Character was inspired by my battle with depression and postpartum depression. I struggle with mental health a lot and I feel like this has been the best outlet I have come up with to date. Nat aka Natalya wields a lance she conducts lightning around. Blonde hair, blue eyes, she resembles the emittance of light and lightning having the bright options of both physical attributes.

The Main conflict arises between Ryla, the leader of the dark lightning wielders, and Polaire, our Main Original Character. Within My Grasp was a Teaser for Ryla’s concept design and was released for Inktober, or Spooktober.

Just within your grasp.... This is a piece for my Lightning Original Character. She is the main villain in my series, she runs the league and nothing makes her hesitate. The inspiration comes from a list of mental health issues I struggle with. This one specifically is based on PTSD, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. She has a keen observation and hypervigilance, she tends to have no problem predicting what may happen and can react with just a blink... if you even last long enough to see her eyes closed. Deep in thought, she stares blankly, planning her next move. But don't spook her just yet, startling her may cause a shockwave you won't recover from. Deep breath in, deep breath out, yet we don't know why. Absent, empty thoughts and zoning out. This allows the fear to seep in further and further. Ryla leads the organization of dark lightning wielders. She is one who invokes the most fear because without a flinch her strong lightning skills explode and end what she started. It does not take much to conjure the power but takes everything to restrain the urge to release all of her power.

An Original Lightning OC also based on my Mental Health Series. The perfect embodiment of narcissism, Stiletto is very cunning and is confident that she rules the world. Often, she clashes with Ryla knowing that she is not as strong as Ryla is. Her focus and need for attention gives her a significant disadvantage towards her reaction and response. Whereas Ryla can shoot a shot with no hesitation.

This Original Character is someone I often fight with myself. She wields a Scythe that absorbs and attracts lightning. Though she can not personally conduct lightning, she uses the orbs within her scythe to draw lightning from other sources emitting light. Taliyah, a playoff of Talos the demigod, the destroyer, Talos also wields lightning.

The Support Original Lightning Character wields a Life Stone creating a protective barrier of lightning around her when activated. Acting as the tank, Vie encounters Polaire and instantly knows she must protect him. Little does she know that may end up being her ultimate downfall.
